M.S. Hammett Construction, LLC was established in 2014, but our experience spans more that two decades...
STEVE HAMMETT
OWNER

Steve Hammett is the founder of M.S. Hammett Construction, established in the fall of 2014. Before launching his own company, he spent over 11 years as a project manager with one of Western North Carolina’s premier luxury home builders, leading high-end residential construction projects ranging from $800K to $4 million.
A third-generation home builder, Steve’s passion for construction began early—spending summers working with various trades in his father’s Spartanburg-based construction company. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Limestone College, graduating cum laude while working full time in the family business. After college, he obtained his South Carolina Residential Home Builder’s License and later acquired an Unlimited General Contractor's License in North Carolina.
In 2012, Steve took on his first major renovation project and quickly developed a love for the creativity and complexity of remodeling. Since then, he has completed a wide range of high-end renovation projects in some of Western North Carolina’s most prestigious gated communities, collaborating with some of the areas most renowned architects and interior designers.
Steve now focuses on large-scale renovations and custom remodeling projects throughout Asheville, Hendersonville, Lake Lure, and the upstate of South Carolina.
He lives in Spartanburg with his wife Kristy, a college professor at Wofford College, his daughter Loie, and their two German Shorthaired Pointers, Ellie and Ollie. When he’s not immersed in construction projects, Steve enjoys spending time on his boat chasing redfish along the South Carolina coast.
LOIE HAMMETT
COMING SOON - INTERIOR DESIGN

Loie is Steve's daughter and the future of M.S. Hammett Construction—at least, that’s the plan. Currently in 7th grade at the Spartanburg Day School, Loie already knows she wants to become an interior designer. She’s grown up around job sites, color palettes, and design sketches, and she brings a natural eye for detail and style to everything she touches.
While she still has a few years to go—Class of 2035!—Loie is already dreaming big. Look out for her creative touch on future projects.
