M.S. Hammett Construction, LLC was established in 2014, but our experience spans more that two decades...
Before forming M.S. Hammett Construction in the fall of 2014, Steve was a project manager for one of Western North Carolina's premier luxury home builders. He spent over 11 years building and managing high-end construction projects ranging from $800K to $4M. His passion for construction started at a very young age when he would spend summers working with different trades for his father's construction company in Spartanburg, S.C. Steve is a third generation home builder and its safe to say that the passion to build runs deep in his blood. Steve graduated Cum Laude earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Limestone College while working for his father's construction company. Shortly after graduating, he obtained his South Carolina Residential Home Builder's License and started to pursue a career in the construction industry.
It was in the spring of 2012 when he was handed his first major renovation project. After a thorough study of the plans, and weeks of project planning, he broke ground and was instantly hooked on the creativity that remodeling projects offered him. He has completed projects in some of WNC's most prestigious gated communities working for some of the areas most esteemed architect's and interior design professionals.
He is primarily focused on completing high-end and large scale renovation and home remodeling projects in the Asheville, Hendersonville, Lake Lure, and Spartanburg areas.
After 15 years of living in WNC, he recently moved back to Spartanburg to get closer to his parents and his daughter's school. He commutes everyday to the mountains and has learned how to make good use of the windshield time. He and his wife Kristy, daughter Loie, and their German Shorthair Pointer Ellie are enjoying being back in the Upstate but his passion for construction will always lay in the mountains of North Carolina.
THE OFFICE DOG
One of the best motivators around, Ellie spends her days keeping the floor in Steve's office warm. She spends the first half of her day eagerly waiting for Pam, her mail carrier to come and deliver her daily treats. She spends the rest of her day waiting for tomorrow's treats. Occasionally, she will make an appearance on a jobsite, depending on the Community Guidelines of course...
